Leadership and Wellness Program for Girls

Calling 3-5 grade girls!  Take advantage of this new opportunity at NDES this spring 2019 and join Girls on the Run! This is a nationally successful character development program that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The program meets twice per week and combines age-appropriate character development lessons with running activities. Girls on the Run uses exercise, positive reinforcement, and encouraging role models to provide young girls with the confidence they need in school and beyond. Girls on the Run is non-competitive and every girl is encouraged to try her best. Girls are required to attend both sessions each week as the lessons build upon each other. Teams are limited to 15 girls per team. Depending on the number of Coaches/volunteers, we will be able to increase registration.

Program Details:

  • Registration opens on January 29 through the Girls on the Run website and closes shortly after (February 3). In order to participate, please formally register through the Girls on the Run website.
  • Practices/meetings will be 2 times a week for 10 weeks, starting March 6. Practices are Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4p - 5:15pm at NDES.
  • There are 6 coaches for NDES, so we can take a larger team than what is posted on the Girls on the Run website.
  • Fee: $165 per person which covers snacks and curriculum (20 sessions), along with a 5K t-shirt and registration.
